So far, the fifth largest dam in the Czech Republic is the Slapy Dam, built in 1950. In addition to water sports such as sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, but also swimming, the dam is used by boat traffic.
The Máj viewpoint is located on a high rock, directly above the former Svatojan streams. In the past, the section of the Vltava River between the villages of Štěchovice and Slapy was referred to as Svatojánské currents, where the river flowed through a deep rocky valley and formed rapids.

The devil’s heads are about 9 m high rock reliefs of two giant (devil’s) heads carved into sandstone blocks in a pine forest above the village of Želízy in the Mělník district. In terms of dimensions, this is a completely unique work by Czech standards.

The Lipno Reservoir is the largest artificial lake in the Czech Republic. Water from the dam is piped to an underground power station. The lake that was created behind the dam is rightly called the “South Bohemian Sea”. It reaches a length of 44 km and at its widest point (near Černá in Pošumaví) the distance between the two banks is 10 km.
